Sarah

Animal Care Assistant

Sarah completed a BSc in Marine Biology and a certificate in Animal Behaviour at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. During her degree she studied whales, tagged sharks, and conducted research on an endangered species of songbird, and these experiences led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Since graduating in 2017, Sarah has been working and volunteering in the veterinary field to gain experience and develop her passions, and she hopes to one day become a veterinarian.

Sarah has had the pleasure of working with animals in Halifax, New York City, Guelph, Peterborough, and Toronto, and she has developed a special interest in emergency medicine and working with wildlife. Sarah enjoys the challenging and unpredictable cases that come into KVEC, as every day brings something new and exciting. She cares deeply about each and every pet but she has a real soft spot for grumpy or “spicy” cats.

In her free time Sarah enjoys getting outdoors and loves hiking, camping, canoeing, snowboarding, birding, and planning her next adventure.
