From a young age I have always known I wanted to work with animals. Over the years I have worked with Dogs, Cats, Horses, Exotics, Livestock and Small Animals. About 15 years ago, I got my first dog and it changed my life forever. The love and passion I found in her has shaped my career, my goals and almost everything about who I am.
I started my career when I graduated from Durham College in 2010 as a Veterinary Assistant, I then went in to become a Certified Performance Horse Handler through the University of Guelph in 2012. My dream was to become a Veterinary Technician and in 2014 I graduated from Seneca College’s Veterinary Technician Program with Honours.
I have a big passion for Emergency, Whelping, Reproduction, Neonatal Care & Equine Medicine.
I started at the Kawartha Veterinary Emergency Hospital over 4 years ago and the clinic is like no other. From the staff, to the management, and the facility itself, there are just not enough words to describe how amazing this clinic is. I feel blessed to have had such an amazing opportunity in joining the team. The clinic has always gone above and beyond for their staff and our own animals care. The team really feels like a family and I could not imagine working anywhere else. Their level of care for the pets they see, is the best in the industry and I am just so grateful to be a part of it.
Fun Fact: I have been Showing, Training, Grooming & Breeding Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers for about 10 years. I absolutely love the breed and currently have over 40 titles in various sports across my dogs. The breed is just wonderful and has helped me in so many ways in my career. My first toller was named “Phoenix” She was the smartest and most accomplished dog I have ever known, she taught me so much about who I wanted to be. It was my love for her that led me to the wonderful career I have now.
