Stephanie

Animal Care Assistant

Since Stephanie could speak, she’s been very passionate about animals. By the time she was 8, she had memorized the entire dog encyclopedia, and as she grew older, she became more interested in their health and welfare.

For the longest time, she wanted to study veterinary medicine, which led her to work as an ACA in the field. Stephanie earned both a Biology and Nursing degree from Trent University. In the future, she plans to work as a nurse with people, spend time with her family, and have fun with her own pets.

Stephanie started her career in general medicine and really enjoyed the close team aspect and getting to know clients and patients. When she moved to Peterborough, she thought she’d change the pace and try emergency medicine. Once she was comfortable, she grew to absolutely love the fast-paced environment, working behind the scenes and seeing pets go home in recovery.

Stephanie was a short-track speed skater and moved to Montreal when she was 15 to skate at the National Training Centre!

She has 4 dogs and 2 cats! Mocha is a 15-year-old chocolate lab and is the Queen!; Dakota is her son, an 11-year-old chocolate lab; Kaya is a 9-year-old Cane Corso and came to her as a rescue, winning her family’s hearts; Lilah is an 8-month-old yellow lab and is the happiest dog she’s ever met; Summer is her 14-year-old tabby and has the sweetest demeanor; and Freeway is her 12-year-old cat that her dad found on the shoulder of the express lane on his way home from work one day, she is the most timid girl.
